Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR) practitioners today are being asked to plan and implement DDR programs in settings where there is no peace agreement in place and ongoing violence and insecurity prevail. These conflict contexts are often protracted in nature, and may be fueled by a potent mix of forces including elements of violent extremism conducive to terrorism and transnational organized crime. This project aims to enhance national and regional capacities partners to engage with operational challenges and risks related to their DDR program within the broader humanitarian/human rights, development and peace nexus.
