Global Program for Reintegration Support

Disarming, demobilizing, and reintegration armed groups is demanding. The 21st Century conflict landscape presents new challenges such as foreign fighters, preventing and countering violent extremism, and engagement in contexts with limited governance, rule of law, and communication infrastructure. There is a pressing need to build capacity to mitigate these challenges.

We are strengthening efforts by the World Bank Group to develop a new funding instrument to support governments and partners engaged in disarmament, demobilization and reintegration (DDR). Particular emphasis is on institutionalizing scalable learning among partners to ensure a robust and coordinated approach across the human rights, humanitarian, development, and peace nexus (HDP Nexus).
