Integration of a Results based approach into Human Rights work

A critical challenge in the field of human rights is establishing a management scheme that is capable of measuring the effectiveness of human rights implementation.

OAM Consult developed and implemented a results-based monitoring (RBM) framework to strengthen the tracking and measurement of results, enhancing organizational reporting and learning at national, regional and global levels. While better indicators are certainly a key ingredient to advancing RBM of human rights, another critical step is to demonstrate how effective it can be when used well in practice. We focused on concrete examples, simple explanations and streamlined training to facilitate staff learning. We found that RBM can certainly help human rights actors achieve better outcomes, but only if they take ownership of it.
